Practicing mindfulness in daily life
with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield Mindfulness has become a mainstream topic but it has yet to become a mainstream practice. Why, because if most of us were truly practicing mindfulness we would be living in a different world. Its ironic that the term mindfulness...

about…
I’ve been a bit of an adventurous spirit in my time on this beautiful blue orb we call home. Meaning I like to try new things and engage a variety of experiences. Along those lines I’ve had multiple careers in my fifty something years on this journey. Spent three years as a soldier in the army. Six years getting a BA and MA in psychology after that. Then another five years as a research coordinator at a major university. Moving on from that I became a pilot and flew for several years but 9/11 ended that career path though it didn’t put a dent in my love of aviation. Spent many years in technology from corporate IT to non-profit work to freelance web design and consulting. I’ve delved into writing several times in the past and now enjoy writing inspiring or helpful pieces on medium.
Through all this I have had a deep spiritual inclination and long term spiritual practice. I’m a longtime practitioner of mindfulness and meditation and the primary focus of my life is inner peace and the creative expression of that peace in my actions.

UAPs, UFOs and disclosure – is the truth about to come out?
I’ve been interested in UFOs all of my life. It started when I was a kid. I had an experience I could not explain in which an unknown object dived out of the sky with a terrible sound and scared the crap out of me and my friend! We didn’t’ know what to make of it but...
Making a difference by picking up trash
My friend introduced me to a fun and beneficial daily practice recently — picking up trash on the street. We live in the middle of a small city so we mostly walk everywhere we go. She started bringing a paper shopping bag and some rubber gloves with her when she went...
Do we need a world war? To wake us up!
You may have heard recently that the “Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists” set the Doomsday clock to 90 seconds before midnight, with midnight being nuclear armageddon. This is the closest it has been to midnight since Albert Einstein and company created the...
Becoming Unemployable
I used to be employable. I’ve worked at a major university as a research coordinator, at a corporate IT job and at two non-profits as a technology specialist. I’ve also been a pilot and a soldier. I’ve done the employable thing. While I enjoyed a lot of this work, I...
Taking our power back!
What has happened to our world?! I don’t know about you but some days it really feels like humanity has gone off the deep end! With things like the Ukraine invasion, China’s threats to Taiwan, oppressive leaders all over the world having so much success and human...
Hello Computer!
Will AI finally let us converse with our tech? Being both a tech and a sci fi buff I often dream about the future and how our tech could evolve to be less frustrating and much more useful. The number one part of daily tech that is ripe for evolution is human-computer...
The power of silence
Finding the calm in the storm Let’s face it — life is intense these days! When you consider all the things we are dealing with. Political turmoil, war, racism and inequality, climate change and extreme weather, financial stress, pandemics and on and on. It’s a wonder...
Can AI be creative?
Depends on what we think of as creative The day is here. I’m not sure exactly when it came and went but it has. AI has now become a useable tool that can generate everything from writing to art to design. Sure AI has been around for a while but until recently its been...
